Mj. Gen. Henry Ayoola (Rtd)


Major Gen Henry Idowu Omolaja Ayoola (Rtd) is a seasoned and well-decorated military officer, belonging to the Elite Corps, the Nigerian Army Signals. He is a fellow of the prestigious National War College (National Defence College Nigeria) and Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

He has a multi-disciplinary background and expertise with three Master Degrees in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Strategic Studies and International Law & Diplomacy.

As Commander, Special Task Force (OPERATION SAFE HAVEN) covering Plateau and parts of Bauchi States, he was instrumental in restoring order and peace in the area. In this capacity, he combated various security challenges, ranging from cattle rustling to herdsmen-farmers clashes, gangsterism, and substance abuses, among others. More importantly, under his leadership, the threats of terrorism and insurgency by Boko Haram were decisively deterred.

Also, because of his professionalism, he has appointed Chief of Defence Research and Development at the Defence Headquarters, a position he held until his retirement. While in this capacity, he proffered solutions to contemporary security challenges and presented three papers, namely:

Establishing a Campaign Planning Directorate/Cell in the Defence Headquarters.

Application of Effects-Based Strategy/Operations to Combat the Insurgency in North-East Nigeria.

Enhancing the Effectiveness of the Operations in North-East Nigeria and Hostage Rescue Plan to Recover the Chibok Girls.

In retirement, he is engaged in mentoring, leadership training, social services and empowering the next generations. He is currently the National Coordinator of Initiative for Peoples Rebirth.
